Title: RULES!
Description: Read for your own good BEFORE you join!
Storm the Red - May 4, 2005 02:36 AM (GMT)
Welcome to Mystic Wish Forums!
We have decided to set our rules up so that you can read off how we treat certain uses of forums instead of just going "1, 2, 3". I think this makes things much easier and much more fun to read.
General Conduct
SPAM
Spam is Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages. There is a forum set aside for this, so it kinda has its own little rules. But in most areas of the forum, it isn't very funny to go around being stupid. Read up on this topic for more about Spam: http://forum.mysticwish.net/index.php?show...ndpost&p=489266
Multi Posting
This is when you post, then post again in a row in the same topic. It isn't double posting to post in two different topics right after each other. [hell, I encourage that.] On your posts, there's an edit button, and if you think that later on there's something you need to add to your post, please use that. I know some people also intentionally post in a topic to bring it to the top of the list. This is called bumping. And you're not allowed to do that for no reason, unless you're updating a topic with new, useful information.
Multiple Accounts
The one you have is good enough for you. If you have a sibling that uses the same comp, please tell us before we ban them!! And there is a link for forgotten passwords. If you just want another username, PM an admin [NOT STORM] and they will change your name for you.
Sexual Content, Nudity, Mature Posts
This forum will probably contain a lot of nasty posts, but no intricate detail on intercourse. Know this before you jump into a lot of topics. However, people aren't allowed to post links, images, ect, like that without warning. If you're posting a topic with links like that, the first thing in the topic line HAS to be a warning. Instant ban if you post goatse or something similar.
Godot's Coffee House
This is a section dedicated to mature audiences, and contains graphic images and posts without clearly marked warnings. If you want to view such a place, that's no problem, PM an admin and they'll set you up.
Off Topic
There is a BBCode for when you just need to go offtopic really quickly in a post. And I know the nature of conversations -- they evolve. And that's perfectly okay, but when you post something MAJORLY off topic, you will be warned.
Downloads, Warez, Ect
Warez, I wouldn't mind it, but Invisionfree does. So I cant have you posting about that. But downloads like emulators and stuff is fine and dandy with me.
Offensive Posts
No racism. Nothing discriminating without reason. NO discrimination against religion and I will freaking ban you if you diss someone's sexuality.
Advertising
Dont spam your site link. It's allowed in your sig and nowhere else. Posting links to show people stuff though is perfectly fine, even if it is on your own website, but don't take advantage of that.
Backseat Modding
This is when you tell someone "don't do that" when you're not a mod. Well guess what? Don't do that! It is likely to cause a fight because you can't do anything to them to stop them. So instead, PM any online mods, or PM the person yourself and calmly tell them "[x] is against the rules, so be careful or edit your post or something" -- there is also a report button next to the posts, so don't be afraid to use that.
Gravedigging
This is when you post in an old topic. I really do not care if you do this. Sometimes, you haven't been online in a while, and you missed a good topic. That's ok, feel free to provide input on it. Also, feel free to bring back old topics that you think were good ones. However, don't bring back old fights. If it's obvious there is some bad vibes coming from the posts of an older topic, don't make us remember it -- leave it be.
Images
Please make sure any images in your post do NOT exceed 600 pixels in width. Just link to it instead of using [IMG] tags. This has become a severe problem, and you are on grounds for really evil punishment if you do this too much.
Grammar
This is such an odd regulation for us... it really just depends on what moderator is browsing your posts at the time. But generally, unless you're making a joke, do NOT use numbers in place of letters, and do NOT shorten words like "are" and "you" to "r" and "u" or I will be extremely upset with you.
Cussing
No matter how much someone may dislike it, I don't, so feel free to cuss as much as you want.
Five-or-Less Word Posts
I really could care less how many words your post has as long as it contains a thought that contributes to the topic and is relevant.
Signatures
Sig size should be relative to this image, and shouldn't be ANY wider. I will be laid back about the height but 300 is a safe zone, no taller unless you think you can stand being warned [though you probably won't.]

FAQ's
What is a Dungeon Ruler?
> These are people Storm knows in real life. They have no special powers or accessibility options, so don't even try asking to be one. Why do I even bother marking these people, you ask? Well for one, just look at how many of them there are. And besides, Storm is much more friendly rules-wise towards these people, and she is more likely to get angry at YOU if you make them upset.
What are the Epic Topic Archives?
> These are just cool topics for us to read through after they've been through their life cycle. You're free to look, but there isn't going to be any new posts in it.
What is Godot's Coffee House?
> Good question. Go back through the rules and read about it!
Can I be an affiliate?
> Depends. If the site is indeed... a WEBSITE, email Storm about it. If it's a forum, PM her. There are requirements posted on the main site, so whether you want to be a forum or web affiliate, please look through them.
What's a n00b?
> For one, it isn't spelled newb or noob. Two, read this topic: http://forum.mysticwish.net/index.php?show...ndpost&p=489266
What's the main website [and a lot of this forum] about?
> Go here: http://mysticwish.net/site/faq.html
Why does Storm turn my red text into pink?
> Because Storm owns red, not you.
What goes in "Parody Content"?
> Things you made that you want us to put on the Mystic Wish site! Feel free to post something there!
How do I access "Sub-forums"?
> These are sections... inside of sections on the forum. http://forum.mysticwish.net/index.php -- That's the index. On the index, you're seeing all the forums contained within, right? Well, you're not seeing the sub-forums. For example, "Srs Bzns" is a sub-forum of "General Stuff". Click on "General Stuff" then once you're there, there's a link to "Srs Bzns" inside!
What are the rules for the Spam section?
> Rules are almost nonexistant there. Just go nuts.
What are the rules of the RPG Dome?
> Ach, that's an odd cookie... just go inside and read the rules of it.
Where do I post bug problems/other issues?
> Please don't PM people. Post them in "Forum Chat," which is a sub-forum of "Site Discussion".
What is the styleswitcher for?
> It's a tool that changes the forum's look! ^^
Storm the Red - June 28, 2005 07:10 PM (GMT)
This is an article taken from Seto-kaiba.com. Click here to view it. Or, just read the below. Keep in mind that I did NOT write this, but I consider all of these things SPAM.
SPAM- What It Is
Since the n00bs are always asking "What is Spam?" I've made this little thing to TELL you what it is. READ IT!
SPAM is SUPID POINTLESS ANNOYING MESSAGES. That basically sums it up right there. But there's more to it than that. This is a list of what qualifies as SPAM
1) A post under five words
2) A link to some other site. That is advertising; it's frowned upon here
3) Posts that are made of nothing but nonesense
4) Double posting
5) Turning off topic in a subject
6) Bringing back up an extremely old subject
Let's go over these one-by-one; shall we?
1) A post under five words
This includes things like smiles, 'Hey' 'What's up", etc . . . Some people can get away with this (mostly the mods) but n00bs can't. Don't just pop up in a thing and go 'Hey all!" and expect everyone to be all friendsly >.<
2) A link to some other site
This really isn't that bad of a thing, but if all of your posts are like "HEY! GO HERE!" THEN it when people will start getting bitchy with you.
3) Posts that are made of nothing but nonsense
THIS is where we have the most trouble. People seem to think that posting crap like "OMG, I'm gonna ger you you litte *insertcraphere*' is going to make them all popular. PLEASE, don't post random shit like "I'm going to jump off a bridge' or "OMG! I just went blind!" into your posts. It makes you look EXTREMELY stupid. AND; when a mod tells you to stop; DON'T F'ING ARGUE WITH THEM! Even the older members of the board will warn you. Don't argue with them; they know what they're talking about; you don't.
4) Double posting
Double posting is this; Making two posts in a row. It's as simple as that, but people make the biggest deal out of it -__- It does NOT matter if the post is about two different topics, it still is double posting. That is what you EDIT button is for. This is HIGHLY frowned upon. DO. NOT. DO. IT!
5) Turning off topic in a subject
This is common too; I've gotten into trouble for it myself. What it means is that if someone has a topic started and then you come in and go "Oh! Hey, do you all think Kaiba is cute?" Now let me state something here; we all kinda have a bad habit of turning off the original topic one way or another. But don't be the one to always start it. Everyonce in a while is alright; doing it constantly is NOT.
6) Bringing back up an extremely old subject
This is a no no as well. I mean, just use common sense. Don't bring back up a thread it it is now September 3rd and the thing is dated August 16th -______- Again; use common sense
WHAT A n00b IS
Okay; now you know what spam is. But I'm going to add a small thing here too. What a n00b is. We have so many going 'I'm not a n00b!" Yes, people you are.
A n00b is a person who talks nonsenes, usually uses netspeak, makes pointless posts, doesn't like to follow rules, and generally pisses everyone off. Being a n00b is NOT an honor; in fact, it's probably one of the worst things you an be. These people usually have no grammer, puncuation and their posts generally look like this:
"Hey! Waz up w/ evry1?" or like this "Hey whats up everyone how are you all doing today I am fine I hope everyone else here is too.
So to get to the point of all this; use proper grammer and generally don't be a pest.
You all have read this; you all know now. Don't give us anymore shit about not knowing what spam is.
One More Thing
Another topic to discuss: I've heard this crap about 'Seto said you can't treat me this way' from all the n00bs. . . yes, he did say to not treat you badly because you have a low post count, but when you get the point where you're just . . . going to kill us with being annoying, we will be. So; shut the hell up about 'Seto said' and do what we say. You know the rules now about spamming and what a 'n00b' is; follow them.
That is all.
