Title: Children and the internet.
Description: side effect? Pros and cons?

They say that technology is humans breaking away from heir surrounding. I know I have never been a good people person, but is the internet really to blame? The internet stands for a person to person connection across miles and miles in reality. It can’t be argued as good or bad, but is spending so much energy on blogs, online relations, and events healthy? What kind of a future are we breading? With what YouTube being what it is, rumors don’t stop at school, its world wide. Hell, they even have schools and jobs online.
As a whole, do you think growing up on the internet is healthy?

For my honest opinion, I think that as long the parent makes sure that the kid doesn't go somewhere bad and they don't go on it 24/7, they should be fun. Of course, also make sure they do something else outside of school, like sports or band or something so they're not on all the time. Basically what I'm saying is that if you don't shove yourself in front of the boob tube your whole life you should be fine.

I think that if you put yourself in front of a computer all the time... you get more timid in the real world... unless you do other things out side of the internet... so I agree with the above statement..so yeah thats all I have to say.

The internet is good.
That is my opinion.
Any place where you can BE YOURSELF is good.
Any place you can find people with similar interests to YOURSELF is good.
Any place where you can FIND THE ANSWERS TO PROBLEMS EASILY is good.
Thus, by that logic, the internet is good.
I would discuss this further, buuuuut... I'm kinda finding it hard to think right now

Anything as an obsession is harmful to one's health. Thus the old saying, too much of a good thing. When you spend all your time online you honestly loose many good qualities, but gain a few important ones as well. Facts and knowledge all at your fingertips. Every answer you'll ever need becomes yours. Talking to friends, having fun with them even after you've moved away is no longer a burden. It's not a bore like the phone, or writting a letter for those who still do that. However, you also waste away physically as a result of nothing but online action. You don't become a dead sack like some would like to say but you still loose in that standard. Having a healthy body as well as mind is important.
Socially, those who stay online too much find it even easier to connect with others of similar interests. Learning abilities go up as well, being able to understand new surroundings at a quicker pace. However, people with anonimity at their disposal 24/7 don't exactly equal up to a good thing either. You've all seen the brat yelling at the computer screen calling people noobs as he pwns them all. Hackers cheating on the game making everyone else angry enough to yell at their screens as well. That's what anonimity does to a good majority of people. Never being caught, can do whatever you want, no concequences? Come on. It's great, right?
The internet keeps you connected, but it shouldn't be over used. I love it, but I also have so much that keeps me busy besides just that. I really feel the internet is necessary in today's life. We can't go without it. As for as society will go as a whole if it continues? That's not a worry. People will always balance themselves out. You'll have the bull headed jocks. The ones behind the screen. The ones in between. Along with every other consortment. The internet really helps society more than it hurts.

I say it all leads back to the old saying that "All things are good in moderation."

Man... I remember when the internet was lame... That's when watching the power rangers was cool.

This is a delicate topic. I think the internet is great for people to express themselves in ways they can't in the real world but they shouldn't sit in front of it so long that they completely withdraw from the real world. Take me and my brother for example. I'm very antisocial but I actually get away from my computer so I keep some outside relationships with people and actually get out of the house. However, my brother is in front of it practically 24/7. Except for skool and work....and playing video games on the Wii. But otherwise, he doesn't really have any real life friends nearby. The ones he did have long ago never hang out with him anymore and most of his friends are now online which contributes to his constant need to be online. While the same is true for me as well, I DO get out of the house to hang out with the few friends I have in real life and leave the internet for mainly the morning and evening. So I'm not saying it's good or bad. Just addictive.
